Senator Edward M. Kennedy's doctor said the brain surgery was successful and "accomplished our goals."

Kennedy's doctor at Duke, Dr. Allan Friedman, said the brain surgery was successful and "accomplished our goals" and he should experience no permanent neurological effects from the surgery.
